I will not be weary

Proverbs 30:1 ““I am weary, God, but I can prevail.”
That’s what I’m going to be saying today….all day.  Last night I went to the rodeo.  Let me just say it. I love the rodeo! From the first announcement to the last event – I’m there.  And that means I didn’t get here (home) until almost midnight.  I don’t know what the announcer is called as a vocation, but I call him a Christ follower.  He started with a speech honoring military for serving our country so we can be free to have a rodeo and so we can be free to pray in public; then he prayed and authentic prayer.  It reminded me of Isaiah 40 that begins “Comfort, comfort my people says God.” Acknowledging that God is in control and he wants us to settle into his comfort. For souls in turmoil and for road weary minds.  Verse 11 says “He tends his flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart. “
I was blessed to be in the audience and watch those amazing bull riders, bucking bronco riders, calf wrestlers, and barrel racers.  I was blessed to share a row with my husband, my grandson, and his girlfriend.  It was blessed to talk to my daughter and son-in-law, see one of my granddaughters and get a warm hug.  There was nothing more perfect …. Nothing.
That means – late to bed, early to rise I’m going to need this to go on today. Isaiah 40:28-31 “Do you not know?  Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.  He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,  they will walk and not be faint.”
