How's your foundation?

OK everybody up! Rise and shine! Good Morning!
What is up with this computer this morning.  YIKES! It must be that I need to step back and contemplate the day ahead. I was working on my blog and have had to reboot a few times.  I could blame it on the downpour outside my window or the cement dust blanketing every inch of uncovered space in my house.  Or I could just say – This is the day that the Lord has made, it’s perfect for finding the good, the joy, the blessings in it.  So how about you?  Did your day get off to a rocky start? Well – how about this. Use those rocks to build a solid foundation for the day. Um – how about Matthew 7:25 “The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” – Uh-huh! This is a parable about the house on the solid rock. But what is a parable.  It’s a story told in language we can relate to so we can understand the eternal meaning behind it.
Luke 6:49 “But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.” I’m going out my door today and as I leave, I will be on a mission. Yeh, yeh, I know – I’ll be going to work. And all the way there I will be anticipating … what? Each day is different, but I know one thing for sure – if I seek to be a light in a dark world, God will honor that. My day won’t be perfect, but I know nothing will happen that doesn’t pass through the ultimate approval process of my father in heaven. No matter what, no matter where, life is good when God is there.
Psalm 126:6 “Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.”
We don’t always get what we expect, and disappointments happen, frustration is one inconvenience away, computers give us fits …. this is why it’s so important to stop – be calm – look up to heaven and say “I need some help here, God. Send me some good attitude and shine a light on my path so I can find my way through this.” That in itself will put another boulder under your sagging faith foundation. 1Timothy 6:19 “In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.”
So – what’s it going to be? Try on a little Psalm 3:3 today “But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.”
